His journey through the industry's most challenging roles has equipped him with a rare perspective on market fundamentals, pricing strategies, and value chain optimization.
As ExxonMobil's Americas Commercial Analytics Lead, Ben directed a specialized team of business and pricing analysts, developing sophisticated approaches to market analysis and value capture across diverse regional markets. His experience spans the entire commercial spectrum—from intricate products trading to retail operations, and from B2B sales to strategic pricing across Mexico, Canada, and the US markets.

Philippe Cote is a distinguished executive with extensive experience in physical and financial trading, risk management, and supply chain optimization. Renowned for his ability to build and lead data-driven, risk-focused teams specializing in trading, risk, and analytics, Philippe has consistently enhanced decision-making processes across trading operations and strategic initiatives. Fluent in English and French, with a basic knowledge of Mandarin, he brings a wealth of global expertise from leadership roles in Canada, Singapore, and the UK.
As co-founder of Quantim Intelligence, Philippe consults on advanced decision-quality strategies for energy supply chains. He also serves as an Executive Professor at the University of Alberta, holding the Sorensen Chair in Energy and Risk Management. His career highlights include spearheading transformative trading initiatives at leading energy firms, commercial banks, and central banks in Canada and the UK.
Philippe is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
Nima Safaian

Nima Safaian has extensive experience in the energy industry. He started as a nuclear engineer and later transitioned into commercial roles, where he built and scaled teams and capabilities in commercial optimization, asset strategy, market analytics, and risk management. Currently, he is a Partner at Quantim Intelligence, a commercial strategy consultancy. Nima has held senior positions at BP supply & trading, Scotiabank, and most recently served as the Vice President of Value Chain Optimization at Cenovus Energy. He holds degrees in nuclear engineering and an MBA, and he is passionate about learning new advanced analytics methods to enhance complex commercial decision-making.
